The Week That Felt Like Vacation...

I can't believe how little I worked at work this week.
- I was sick last Friday and again on Monday...yes, really sick. I did visit the dr. twice and got 2 different antibiotics.
- I worked Tuesday all day.
- Wednesday we had snow and after trying to get to work for over an hour I turned around and came home and worked from home...for about a half day.
- Thursday I went to work and got there just in time to see an email stating that due to the sub-zero temps we were closed.
- Today I checked the email first and event though it was COLDER than yesterday, we were open so I trudged to work...but our heat was not working and the temp kept dropping so our CEO declared our office closed. I went to lunch with some co-workers where we did actually do some brainstorming and note taking and I'm considering it work...we left the restaurant at 2 and I went home.
- Monday is MLK day and we are OFF!!!
Although, I then have meetings almost every day, so I think I might have to step it up and do some work...actually lots of work since I have sluffed (sp) off this week. I have an intense February coming up to make up for the fluff week!
TOMORROW: The American Girl store with my SIL and 2 nieces!!! They are getting their first dolls, it should be fun. We're taking the train downtown and going to lunch and Water Tower place (where the AG store is)....Yay!!

Date: 2009-01-17 04:33 am (UTC)BG is crazy for American Girl. CRAZY! She received a Just Like Me doll and Kit for Christmas. She named her Just Like Me doll *Jessica* which means *gift*. The class she's taking at co-op is so fabulous. They won't be offering it next year because the women leading the class want to take a break. That is sadness.
I really wish American Girl could see their way to including stories about a few more African American girls. You know...where slavery isn't that one factor that makes their story worth telling. It's typical. Really.
So...what about Vegas???!

Date: 2009-01-23 03:05 am (UTC)Did you see the girl of the year Chrissa? She has a friend who is African American...I can't remember her name, but her doll is available. We had a great time at the store on Saturday and the 2 little girls are loving their dolls!
We won't be booking Vegas until March-ish, but the dates are set...we are going for my SIL's 50th bday. I am so excited to see you there!!!!
